Now Available: IE 10 Platform Preview 4
Microsoft released the fourth version of its Internet Explorer 10 platform preview. It follows closely behind platform preview 3, which was bundled up with the debut of the Windows 8 developer preview that appeared at the Microsoft Build conference in mid-September . Microsoft's platform preview releases seem to occur whenever the development team is seeking feedback on browser features, rather than according to a fixed schedule.

Introduction
Desktops allows you to organize your applications on up to four virtual desktops. Read email on one, browse the web on the second, and do work in your productivity software on the third, without the clutter of the windows you're not using. After you configure hotkeys for switching desktops, you can create and switch desktops either by clicking on the tray icon to open a desktop preview and switching window, or by using the hotkeys.

AdRestore v1.1 - work in Windows 2008 R2 too

Automatically switch default printers between home, work, or school
Windows 7 offers the handy ability to automatically switch your laptop's default printer when it detects that you've moved from one network to another—from home to work, for example.
This feature, called location-aware printing, is only available in premium editions ofWindows 7. It's also only found on laptops and other portable devices that use a battery.
To use it, first set a printer as your default. That printer then becomes the default for the network you're connected to. Then, set Windows to change your default printer depending on where you are.

Ipconfig - Options
Displays all current TCP/IP network configuration values and refreshes Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and Domain Name System (DNS) settings. Used without parameters, ipconfig displays the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway for all adapters.
Syntax
ipconfig [/all] [/renew [Adapter]] [/release [Adapter]] [/flushdns] [/displaydns] [/registerdns] [/showclassid Adapter] [/setclassid Adapter [ClassID]]
Parameters
/all : Displays the full TCP/IP configuration for all adapters. Without this parameter, ipconfig displays only the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway values for each adapter. Adapters can represent physical interfaces, such as installed network adapters, or logical interfaces, such as dial-up connections.
/renew [Adapter] : Renews DHCP configuration for all adapters (if an adapter is not specified) or for a specific adapter if the Adapter parameter is included. This parameter is available only on computers with adapters that are configured to obtain an IP address automatically. To specify an adapter name, type the adapter name that appears when you use ipconfig without parameters.
/release [Adapter] : Sends a DHCPRELEASE message to the DHCP server to release the current DHCP configuration and discard the IP address configuration for either all adapters (if an adapter is not specified) or for a specific adapter if the Adapter parameter is included. This parameter disables TCP/IP for adapters configured to obtain an IP address automatically. To specify an adapter name, type the adapter name that appears when you use ipconfig without parameters.
/flushdns : Flushes and resets the contents of the DNS client resolver cache. During DNS troubleshooting, you can use this procedure to discard negative cache entries from the cache, as well as any other entries that have been added dynamically.
/displaydns : Displays the contents of the DNS client resolver cache, which includes both entries preloaded from the local Hosts file and any recently obtained resource records for name queries resolved by the computer. The DNS Client service uses this information to resolve frequently queried names quickly, before querying its configured DNS servers.
/registerdns : Initiates manual dynamic registration for the DNS names and IP addresses that are configured at a computer. You can use this parameter to troubleshoot a failed DNS name registration or resolve a dynamic update problem between a client and the DNS server without rebooting the client computer. The DNS settings in the advanced properties of the TCP/IP protocol determine which names are registered in DNS.

Setting an IPv4 configuration - netsh
For example, if you want to configure the Local Area Connection interface with an IPv4 address 10 .0 .0 .11, a subnet mask 255 .255 .255 .0, and a default gateway 10 .0 .0 .11, you enter the following command:
netsh interface ipv4 set address "local area connection" static 10.0.0.11 255.255.255.0
10.0.0.11
If you also wanted to set the DNS server address as 10 .0 .0 .11, you enter the following command:
netsh interface ipv4 set dnsservers "local area connection" static 10.0.0.11
If you wanted the interface to obtain its IPv4 configuration automatically (dynamically), you enter the following commands:
netsh interface ipv4 set address name="local area connection" source=dhcp
netsh interface ipv4 set dnsservers name="local area connection" source=dhcp

How does ICS work?
First, you need one computer, called the host computer, that is connected to the Internet and that has a separate connection to the other computers on your network. You enable ICS on the Internet connection. Supernet
A supernet is an Internet Protocol (IP) network that is formed from the combination of two or more networks (or subnets) with a common Classless Inter-Domain Routing (CIDR) prefix. The new routing prefix for the combined network aggregates the prefixes of the constituent networks. It must not contain other prefixes of networks that do not lie in the same routing path. The process of forming a supernet is often called supernetting, route aggregation, or route summarization.

Subnetting
Subnetting an IP Network can be done for a variety of reasons, including organization, use of different physical media (such as Ethernet, FDDI, WAN, etc.), preservation of address space, and security. The most common reason is to control network traffic. In an Ethernet network, all nodes on a segment see all the packets transmitted by all the other nodes on that segment. Performance can be adversely affected under heavy traffic loads, due to collisions and the resulting retransmissions. A router is used to connect IP networks to minimize the amount of traffic each segment must receive.
